Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for skilled public health professionals to join our team within the 0-19 Children's and Young People Public Health Service. This service brings together Health Visiting, School Health Nursing, and the Family Nurse Partnership, delivering the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) to provide an innovative and high-quality service that supports children, young people and families to thrive.

The role offers the opportunity to engage in community-based health promotion activities as well as supporting Oxfordshire's Young Parents Pathway alongside Specialist Practitioners.

Main Job Responsibilities

Within the caseload, you will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of the 0-19 service. You will work with children, young people, families, primary care, schools and statutory and voluntary services to facilitate health-enhancing activities and improve health outcomes.

You will deliver services to children and families within homes and community settings. Clinical activities will include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating family focused care under the delegation of a SCPHN Health Visitor/School Health Nurse and working in partnership with other agencies.

The role includes undertaking Healthy Child Programme developmental and transitional assessments and planning, delivering and evaluating public health initiatives through community-based health promotion activities.

Key Requirements
  • To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in public health nursing and experience of working with children, young people and families.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • You will have a flexible approach to work and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
