Job Opportunity
You will play a pivotal role in student behaviour triage, identifying and managing risks associated with student behaviour. Determining response priorities, coordinating resources, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken will be your responsibility.
This will involve gathering relevant information, conducting thorough case assessments, and referring cases to the Behaviour Assessment and Management team. Additionally, you will record and implement recommendations, maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive university environment.
Providing triage, conducting initial investigations, assessing risk and compiling statements, reports, and briefs in support of formal University action, ensuring procedural fairness and natural justice are applied to all persons involved;
Responding to student disclosures of gender-based violence, inappropriate, threatening or concerning behaviour and providing case management, including the development of risk assessments, communication plans, and safety planning for all parties;
Providing interventions to students engaging in behaviour of concern, including students from diverse communities, and students experiencing mental ill-health; and
Supporting students who have experienced harm, in particular supporting students who have experienced gendered violence.
About You
With experience in responding to individuals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, combined with a deep understanding of intersectionality as it relates to marginalized and vulnerable groups, you will bring invaluable skills to this role. Demonstrated awareness of the issues surrounding gender-based violence in a tertiary setting, and effective delivery of training on responding to disclosures of sexual harm, family, and domestic violence, is also essential.
Key Requirements include:
A relevant university degree and extensive relevant experience in clinical psychology, forensic psychology, social work, criminology, or a related discipline, and eligibility for registration with applicable professional bodies;
High level of skill and experience in providing trauma-informed responses to students;
Expertise in case management and risk assessment, including capacity to manage complex case needs while balancing time constraints; and
Experience in data collection, report writing and analysis and expertise in the maintenance of comprehensive case records.
