About this Role

This leadership position is based in Geelong and involves working with the Manager of Patient Services and the Leadership Team to deliver a streamlined and efficient approach to elective and emergency admissions.

The role encompasses all aspects of the patient's journey prior to admission, including theatre bookings, clerical pre-admissions, health fund eligibility checks, and patient admission.

You will be responsible for responding promptly to enquiries and requests, handling patient accounts, and performing general administrative duties such as data entry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A strong customer focus to ensure a positive patient experience from booking to admission.
  • Couching and developing employees in the many aspects of Patient Services.
  • Creating a positive team culture through new-starter orientation, recruitment activity, team leadership, and roster management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • An ability to cope under pressure and make informed decisions according to hospital needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated success in team leadership.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology.
  • Administration experience gained within a service industry.
  • Experience with or knowledge of health fund checks and requirements.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Experience in IPM/CRM or similar health systems software will be advantageous.
