Transplant Surgery Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical practitioner to join our renal and transplantation unit at Westmead Hospital.

The successful applicant will be fully trained in kidney and pancreas transplantation, as well as having a strong background in research and teaching.

In addition, applicants should possess Australian Fellowship/Specialist Registration and have sound clinical knowledge in Transplant and General Surgery.

Essential Requirements for Appointment:
  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
  • Training in Kidney and Pancreas transplant surgery, multi-organ retrieval surgery, and access surgery (peritoneal and vascular access).
Selection Criteria:
  • Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty - FRACS in General Surgery.
  • Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty - Subspecialist training in Transplant Surgery.
  • Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner.
  • Ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system.
  • Commitment to good governance, achieving results and managing risks.
