A key role in a local council has arisen for an HR professional with strong Employee and Industrial Relations expertise. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively as a People & Culture Business Partner, supporting organisational change initiatives and contributing to future-focused projects.
About the RoleThis business partnering role requires someone who can work independently, bringing their ER/IR expertise to the table. The successful candidate will manage a heavy ER/IR portfolio, provide partnering support to leaders, and collaborate closely with other Business Partners.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve Employee and Industrial Relations outcomes.
- Coach and influence leaders to achieve positive people outcomes.
- Support organisational change initiatives and contribute to future-focused projects.
- Collaborate closely with other Business Partners and stakeholders.
- Depth of experience in Employee and Industrial Relations — confident managing complex issues and interpreting industrial instruments.
- Track record as a trusted HR Business Partner operating independently in challenging environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build strong relationships.
- Ability to balance operational ER/IR casework with contributing to strategic projects.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards, and Agreements (local government experience is beneficial).
- Resilience, confidence, and the ability to deliver results without requiring close coaching or supervision.
