Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Water Operations Specialist to join our team. As a Water Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our water supply systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First:
    • Ensure your safety and the safety of others by following all relevant health and safety protocols.
    • Manage fatigue during long-distance travel and ensure that all necessary rest periods are taken.
    • Identify opportunities for improving workplace safety and implement changes as needed.
    • Report any hazards or incidents and participate in investigations to identify root causes.
  • Achieving Standards and Timeframes:
    • Maintain network water quality requirements by completing all relevant tasks and activities to the required standard and timeframe.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure tasks and goals are achieved efficiently.
    • Undertake construction, maintenance, and operational tasks on complex water systems, including laying mains and connections.
    • Perform environmental reporting and acquire relevant permits and approvals as needed.
    • Handle manual tasks, work at heights, and confined spaces safely and efficiently.
    • Support the onboarding and development of new employees and trainees.
  • Compliance with Systems:
    • Utilize and comply with relevant electronic/paper systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
    • Effectively use technology systems (e.g., emap, scada, DBYD) for reporting and administration purposes.
    • Perform hazard and fatigue management checks regularly.
  • Utilisation of Resources:
    • Use and maintain tools, materials, equipment, and vehicles appropriately to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
    • Operate a range of fleet, equipment, and minor plant following safety guidelines to ensure efficient operations.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide high-level customer service to internal and external customers through professional communication and issue resolution.
