**Role Overview:**
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist plays a pivotal role in implementing the department's WHS Management System, providing expert advice and promoting health and wellbeing initiatives across the department.
This position involves:
- Providing informed advice and recommendations to the department in line with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
- Coordinating secretariat activities for the HSR Network Meeting and supporting preparation for the department's WHS Committee.
- Managing the Health and Safety Representatives program, including coordinating training and vacant positions.
- Reviewing Home Based Work Applications and coordinating comprehensive workstation assessments.
- Managing incident and hazard reports, workplace hazard inspections, and first aid programs.
- Leading the development and scheduling of initiatives that promote safety and wellbeing in the workplace.

**Essential Requirements:**
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Work Health and Safety is mandatory.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a client service focus and coordinate projects.
