Job Title: Employee Relations Advisor

This role involves providing expert guidance on employee and industrial relations matters, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

The Employee Relations Advisor will be responsible for advising stakeholders on compliance with relevant legislation and regularly updating processes and policies to reflect best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong HR generalist advice on employee relations issues including performance management, grievances, investigations etc. in an accurate and timely manner
  • Lead confidential investigations with fairness and integrity
  • Ensure strong compliance with relevant legislation, governing industrial instruments, policies, and procedures
  • Keep up to date with current legislation and advise the organisation on compliance and risk
  • Engage with stakeholders on discussions around employee relations matters
  • Work closely with other teams on labour initiatives, process improvements, Award compliance and employee matters
  • Ensure annualised salaries and wage arrangements remain compliant following changes to rosters
  • Identify and implement process and procedure improvements across the business as required
  • Interact with unions as required
  • Engage with external providers to gain advice on ER/IR matters
  • Facilitate training for managers and employees on HR practices, procedures, Awards, legislation, and other relevant areas as required
  • Support with the roll out of HR initiatives across the business
Requirements:
  • At least 1-3 years' experience in a generalist human resources or employee relations specialist role
  • Previous experience in fast-paced working environments
  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end investigation processes
  • Proven ability providing strong ER/IR support and advice to managers

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to partner with stakeholders
  • Advanced MS Word and intermediate MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills
  • High levels of resilience, professionalism, and work ethic
  • Approachable, energetic, and flexible in approach
