We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our team. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and advocacy to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Your personal lived experience of mental health recovery will be invaluable in helping others navigate their own journeys. You will engage with clients in a non-judgmental and empathetic manner, fostering a supportive environment that promotes recovery and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster trusting relationships with clients through active listening and empathetic understanding.
- Develop and implement personalized support plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care planning and coordination.
- Provide education and resources to empower clients to take control of their mental health and wellness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with organizational policies.
Requirements
- Lived experience of mental health recovery is essential for this role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships.
- A strong understanding of recovery-oriented approaches and person-centered care.
- Knowledge of local mental health support services and community resources is highly desirable.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality.
