Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Specialist to join our team in Queensland. As a key member of our Local Government team, you will be responsible for coordinating workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance.

About the Role

The successful candidate will coordinate WHS policies, procedures, and compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. This includes providing practical support and advice to staff on WHS matters, investigating incidents, delivering training, maintaining WHS registers, and conducting audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate WHS policies, procedures, and compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff on WHS matters
  • Conduct investigations into incidents and deliver training programs to promote a safe work culture
  • Maintain accurate WHS registers and conduct regular audits
  • Collaborate with management to implement risk management strategies
Requirements:
  • Diploma-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in WHS roles
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and ability to apply it in Local Government
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence and White Card
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card and pass a Police Check
