Production Planning Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner based at Osborne Naval Shipyard in Adelaide, SA.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the planning effort for the ship build phase of the Hunter Class Frigate Program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing production plans, work orders, and job cards in accordance with established planning processes.
  • Utilising Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to schedule work using rolling wave planning techniques.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to coordinate and execute the production schedule effectively.
  • Preparing accurate production estimates based on approved business norms.
  • Identifying required Bill of Materials (BoMs) and generating detailed parts lists to support timely material issuing from the warehouse.
  • Monitoring facility utilisation to sequence tasks efficiently and optimise resource allocation.
  • Tracking, analysing, and reporting on production schedule progress and performance.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role, preferably within heavy engineering or similar industries.
  • Trade experience will also be considered highly valuable.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines.
