About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Operational Project Lead to join our Central Operations team, which is the engine room of our supermarket business. As a key member of this high-performing team, you'll lead a group of Project Managers in making the lives of our store teams easier. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and delivering large-scale operational and technical projects that increase efficiency and implement forward-thinking ways of operating.

You'll also be responsible for:

  • Defining, planning, and executing projects and programs that deliver sustainable outcomes
  • Contributing to the development of strategies and setting strategic priorities
  • Providing advice to steering committees and ensuring appropriate reporting, governance, and control functions are upheld
  • Managing stakeholder communications and overseeing engagement initiatives
  • Creating and monitoring detailed project metrics and reporting

About You and Your Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience leading a diverse team of high-performing professionals
  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale projects (in a retail and/or operations environment will be considered favorably)
  • An understanding of store operations, merchandise functions, and inventory would be highly beneficial
  • A successful track record of identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong experience with varied stakeholder groups
  • The ability to interpret and use data to provide recommendations and create presentations
  • A level of comfort and expertise with change management
