Job Title: Fixed Income Settlements Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fixed Income Settlements Specialist to join our dynamic operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing the settlement of fixed income DVP and cash trades via Austraclear.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute fixed income DVP and cash trade settlements in Austraclear
  • Monitor Austraclear functions throughout the settlement day, identifying and resolving issues promptly
  • Reconcile and fund fixed income currency accounts accurately and on time
  • Escalate and follow up on failing or unmatched trades
  • Reconcile and facilitate intercompany settlements
  • Liaise regularly with traders, confirmation teams, internal stakeholders, and external clients
  • Source and manage static settlement instructions (SSI) and counterparty/instrument setups
  • Professionally resolve trade differences through detailed communication via email and phone
  • Investigate and resolve nostro and cash breaks related to unmatched ledgers
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with Austraclear and fixed income settlements is essential
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • A control and risk-focused approach to your work
  • Confidence in escalating issues appropriately to management and trading desks
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required
  • Adaptable attitude with eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
