Maintenance Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the technical workforce and allocating resources to provide high-quality maintenance and modification services to customers. The successful candidate will have experience working in a senior technical leadership role within an aircraft maintenance environment and be able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the highest possible standard of aircraft maintenance.
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with relevant and current Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
  • Assist in development and implementation of repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide leadership for and knowledge of the full scope of activities carried out by the maintenance organisation.
  • Meet the requirements of and hold the post of Responsible Manager as described in the CASA Regulations.
  • Work with the Quality & Safety Manager to ensure aviation quality, safety, and compliance with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for responding to quality deficiencies in the area of activity for which he/she is responsible.
  • Review and manage aircraft technical work scope prior, during, and post maintenance to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for availability of sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and certify the work being performed.
  • Coordinate and provide professional, efficient service and flawless delivery of Customer requirements.
  • Liaise with the Sales Team and Customers to ensure aircraft requirements are co-ordinated and clearly communicated.
  • Manage resources efficiently to achieve the desired results.
  • Review engineer training requirements and assist scheduling training requirements for MRO team members.
  • Manage the performance and development process for the MRO team members.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have experience working in a senior technical leadership role within an aircraft maintenance environment, demonstrated a strong work ethic to meet and exceed customer expectations, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Working Conditions:

The Maintenance Manager will work in a dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement and will be required to work in a team environment with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
