About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Development Coordinator to join our team at the City of Whittlesea. As a key member of our Community Development & Facilities team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of community development programs and services across the municipality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct day-to-day support and supervision to place-based Community Development Officers
  • Develop and implement community development programs and initiatives that promote social cohesion and community engagement
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community groups, agencies, and stakeholders to identify and address community needs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the City of Whittlesea's community development strategy
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human/Social Science/Community Development or a related discipline
  • At least five years' experience in a leadership role in a community setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in community development and program development and delivery
  • Proven leadership skills to manage staff and provide regular supervision and support
