Paralegal Role Overview

The Office of the Public Guardian safeguards the rights and interests of vulnerable individuals, including adults with impaired decision-making capacity, children, and young people in the child protection system.

This role is focused on protecting, supporting, advocating, educating, and empowering individuals to live with dignity in a Queensland community that values their well-being.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to policy and legal advice, coordinating external requests, reviewing documents, and managing information and records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake research to provide policy and legal advice on statutory functions and exercising powers.
  • Assist in coordinating high-priority external requests for information.
  • Review and advise on enduring documents.
  • Manage information and records for the Child Liaison and Protection Team and assist with reporting activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • No mandatory qualifications; however, a bachelor's degree or undertaking a relevant tertiary education in Law would be highly regarded.
