Senior Microbiological Laboratory Manager

We are seeking a Senior Microbiological Laboratory Manager to join our team at ALS in Newcastle. This is a full-time opportunity that offers a challenging and rewarding career path for an experienced laboratory professional.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our microbiological laboratory, including coordination, supervision, and quality control. They will also be involved in preparation and analysis of water samples, ensuring compliance with ALS Quality Work Instructions and QA/QC standards.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of scientists and technicians, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and innovative methodologies to deliver high-quality testing services. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory procedures, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the microbiological laboratory, including coordination, supervision, and quality control
- Prepare and analyze water samples for various tests, ensuring compliance with ALS Quality Work Instructions and QA/QC standards
- Develop and implement laboratory procedures, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate records and reports, as required by ALS and regulatory bodies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial testing laboratory, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other relevant software applications
- A strong desire to work in a high-throughput, customer-focused environment
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience
