Wildlife Research Associate

About this role:
We are seeking a Wildlife Research Associate to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for collecting wildlife data related to bushfire research and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fieldwork involving surveys of wildlife in Victoria.
- Deploy wildlife cameras and acoustic monitoring devices, including driving to field locations.
- Tag images of wildlife and/or acoustic recordings with taxonomic identifications and prepare data for registration.
- Coordinate with research teams from the University of Melbourne.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Experience undertaking field-based animal surveys and safety procedures.
- Experience identifying Australian vertebrates, especially birds.
- Experience managing images and metadata.
- Experience entering data into spreadsheets and maintaining records.
