Program Leadership Opportunity

We seek an experienced leader to oversee a team of 15-20 staff and drive operational excellence in our residential and homelessness programs.

This on-site position requires strong leadership skills, including the ability to navigate complex systems, manage competing priorities, and foster collaborative partnerships.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in setting service standards, ensuring compliance, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team to deliver contractually compliant and client-focused services.
  • Oversee operational planning, resource allocation, and service delivery to meet program targets and KPIs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and community organisations.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding and knowledge of the trends in the housing and homelessness services sector, policy developments, best practice, and other relevant service providers.
  • Authorise expenditure in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with quality frameworks and organisational policies.
  • Adeptly manage complex client engagement, including case reviews, complaint management, and client outcomes.
Requirements for Success
  • Substantial leadership experience (5+ years) in community services management.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in human services or an associate diploma with significant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and services in complex environments.
  • Proven experience in budget management and achieving service outcomes in line with contractual requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural protocols.
  • Capacity to remain calm under pressure and adept at managing competing priorities.
  • Personal alignment with Mission Australia's values and commitment to positive community outcomes.
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Full driver licence with no restrictions.
