Job Overview

The Zurich North America Claims team values a healthy balance between work and life. We offer a hybrid work model that allows employees to work from their preferred location while fostering in-person connections and collaborative activities when meaningful.

We are seeking an experienced claims professional to join our team in Maitland, FL. This role will handle commercial line Workers Compensation claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity within specific authority limits.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date claims files by capturing and updating relevant data in compliance with industry best practices.
  • Evaluating facts to determine liability and making informed decisions.
  • Analyzing applicable coverage to determine whether the loss falls within the policy's scope.
  • Developing case strategies, evaluating cases, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Establishing timely reserves and conducting ongoing reviews throughout the claims cycle within authority limits.
  • Negotiating claim settlements by developing negotiation strategies and utilizing available resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
  • Juris Doctor and 2 or more years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree with 6 or more years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
  • Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 6 or more years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
  • High School Diploma Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Florida Work Comp Claims or Litigation Management area.
  • Experience handling other Southern US Work Comp state jurisdictions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
