Apprentice Horticulturist - Parks and Gardens Opportunity

We are offering a unique apprenticeship experience in horticultural parks and gardens, where you will gain hands-on skills in managing diverse commercial landscapes throughout Wollongong.

As part of our team, you will be immersed in a fast-paced, skills-focused environment with strong on-the-job learning. You will assist in delivering high-quality garden and turf maintenance across various sites, apply herbicides and pesticides under supervision, and learn plant identification, seasonal care routines, and pest/disease recognition.

You will participate in structured training, combining theory with practical assessments, and collaborate with experienced tradespeople as part of a dedicated landscape team. Your duties will include progressing toward completion of a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens, developing technical skills in planting, pruning, soil improvement, and plant health care, operating basic horticultural machinery, and assisting with irrigation and drainage systems.

This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the Landscape/Horticulture Industry and wanting to get trade qualified while being paid. To be eligible, you must have a driver's license, own transport or be able to commute to site, and undergo necessary background checks.
