About the Role

This position plays a pivotal role in building sector capability and enhancing emergency response readiness in the Northern Territory. The successful candidate will focus on developing and delivering capability building activities and initiatives to ensure effective response during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training programs for external and internal stakeholders involved in evacuation centre management
  • Build the capability of stakeholders to ensure effective response during emergencies
  • Collaborate with teams and people from diverse backgrounds to create a collaborative working environment
  • Manage time, set priorities, plan and organise own work
Requirements
  • Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in developing and delivering capability building activities and initiatives, preferably in emergency management or related fields
  • Sound understanding of evacuation centre management principles, protocols, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and sensitivity to community needs in the Northern Territory context is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to utilise digital platforms for training delivery and documentation
