About the Role

This is a pivotal position within Australian Red Cross, focusing on building sector capability and enhancing emergency response readiness in the Northern Territory.

The role concentrates on developing the capability of external and internal stakeholders involved in evacuation centre management to ensure effective response during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver capability building activities and initiatives in emergency management or related fields
  • Apply sound understanding of evacuation centre management principles, protocols, and best practices
  • Engage effectively with diverse stakeholders through excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Utilize digital platforms for training delivery and documentation
  • Work under general direction from senior employees within clear objectives and budget constraints
Requirements
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise in emergency management or related fields
  • Sound understanding of evacuation centre management principles, protocols, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and sensitivity to community needs in the Northern Territory context
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
