Commercial Business Development Specialist

Job Overview:
The Commercial Portfolio Manager will play a pivotal role in Aurizon's Bulk Customer and Growth team, overseeing customer accounts to drive commercial excellence.
This key position will be accountable for partnering with major mining customers and internal/external operational teams to deliver strong commercial outcomes across your portfolio of customers.
You will cultivate and leverage robust customer relationships to optimize current revenue contracts and propel business growth by identifying and securing new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Establish and maintain exceptional relationships across your customer portfolio and all functions within the organization to facilitate the seamless flow of customer information.
- Serve as the lead expert for all customer intelligence within your portfolio, including identifying and facilitating potential future business growth opportunities or decline risks, and developing long-term strategic solutions.
- Lead the design and development of customer proposals, tender responses, and business cases, working collaboratively with Operations, Legal, and Finance, and managing internal approval processes with Senior Executives.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with customers, focusing on renewing contracts before expiry. Anticipate how contractual and pricing mechanisms influence behaviors and outcomes for the company and the customer.
