About the Program

Our Financial Counselling program provides free, confidential, and non-judgmental assistance to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. Our team of experienced counsellors work with participants to assess their needs, provide information and supported referrals, and deliver community education sessions.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Financial Counsellor/Capability Worker to join our team. As a key member of our program, you will work with participants to build their financial capacity, provide financial literacy and problem gambling amelioration support, and deliver community education sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial counselling and support to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship
  • Assess participant needs and develop individualized plans to address financial issues
  • Deliver community education sessions on financial literacy and problem gambling amelioration
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and services to provide comprehensive support to participants
Requirements
  • Diploma in Community Services (Financial Counselling) or equivalent
  • Registration with an affiliated professional body or willingness to complete core qualification within 12 months
  • Prior experience working as a Financial Counsellor or in the human services sector
  • Empathy, non-judgmental attitude, solutions-focused approach, and cultural responsiveness
