Body Repair Technician Job Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Body Repair Technician to join our workshop in Melbourne and be part of our growth journey.
About the Role
- Assess damaged vehicles, decide on the best repair methods, estimate time and cost for repairs.
- Perform body smash repairs, panel replacements, rust removal, paint restoration, and other related tasks.
- End-to-end painting process of vehicles including sealing, sanding, masking, priming, and spray painting.
- Cut & polish detailing to prepare vehicles for services.
- Ensure all repairs meet industry compliance requirements and company expectations.
- Mentor and assist apprentices and trade assistants as required, ensuring they complete work safely and at the required quality.
Requirements
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Building/Refinishing Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in spray painting and panel/body repairs on heavy vehicles.
- Medium Rigid (MR) licence or higher preferred but not mandatory.
- Forklift licence is preferred but not mandatory.
- Good understanding of workshop operations is advantageous.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
