MES Automation Layer Electrical Engineer

  • This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) automation layer and other critical automation systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support for PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, drives, and advanced instrumentation.
  2. Troubleshoot breakdowns and investigate root causes to drive long-term reliability improvements.
  3. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and process teams to optimize control and tracking systems.
  4. Assist in implementing machine learning, vision systems, and other digital transformation initiatives.
  5. Support system upgrades and ensure all changes are well-documented and aligned with business standards.
  6. Contribute to the development of maintenance strategies and manage critical spares and system documentation.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering (or a related field).
  • Experience working with industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA).
  • Safety as a core value. Understanding of legislative safety requirements (the need to provide safe systems of work).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with MES systems, process automation, or data-driven technologies (desirable).

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and hands-on problem-solver with strong communication and collaboration skills, and a passion for continuous improvement and digital innovation.
