Senior Rheumatology Specialist
About the Opportunity:
The University invites applications for a full-time position in Rheumatology. The successful candidate will lead research and provide clinical care as part of the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology
- Provide leadership in developing, implementing and promoting clinical/education programs for students relating to Rheumatology
- Contribute to Rheumatology Department activities, including quality and safety improvement
- Promote a collaborative culture that respects staff skills and opinions
Requirements:
- Hold a PhD in a field related to Rheumatology
- Be registered as a medical practitioner with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent
- Have an emerging national/international reputation and research track record, including publications in peer-reviewed international journals and success in obtaining research funding and supervision of research students
- Have experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching initiatives within Rheumatology
- Have relationships with key academic institutions that can enhance the standing of the Specialty and Hospital/Faculty/University
