Senior Rheumatology Specialist Opportunity

The University invites applications for a full-time position in Rheumatology. The successful candidate will lead research and provide clinical care as part of the healthcare team.


Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Rheumatology Specialist. As a key member of the Rheumatology Department, you will be responsible for leading research initiatives and providing high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology
  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing and promoting clinical/education programs for students relating to Rheumatology
  • Contribute to Rheumatology Department activities, including quality and safety improvement
  • Promote a collaborative culture that respects staff skills and opinions

Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD in a field related to Rheumatology
  • Be registered as a medical practitioner with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent
  • Have an emerging national/international reputation and research track record, including publications in peer-reviewed international journals and success in obtaining research funding and supervision of research students
  • Have experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching initiatives within Rheumatology
  • Have relationships with key academic institutions that can enhance the standing of the Specialty and Hospital/Faculty/University
