Job Description

As a highly skilled Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mining equipment.

You will be responsible for providing technical support for on-site machinery and explosive delivery equipment, performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues in remote environments.

Additionally, you will assist with calibration, system checks, and operational readiness of mobile units, complete and submit service reports, and support the commissioning and decommissioning of field equipment as needed.

Your work will involve collaborating with blasting teams and site supervisors to ensure equipment availability, promoting and adhering to safety protocols, and working effectively within a team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Trade qualification in mechanical, automotive, or diesel fitting
  • Experience in mobile equipment servicing or field-based technical support
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability in hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Current manual driver's licence (HR licence desirable or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with explosive delivery systems (MPUs) is advantageous
  • Sound understanding of safety and environmental protocols in mining or industrial sites
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in small teams
