The Mine Contracts Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all contract-related activities at the Kunwarara mine, ensuring operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This includes managing subcontractors, haulage logistics, and stockpile operations to ensure full compliance with contractual requirements, while aligning with the broader business strategy and driving low-cost operational outcomes.

About The Role

As the Mine Contracts Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing various mine services contracts to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness for QMAG. Key responsibilities include applying contract terms to maximise benefits, overseeing dayworks and screening activities to reduce costs, and coordinating with engineering and survey teams to ensure compliance with design and volumetric requirements. The position also entails scheduling and monitoring haulage operations under contract, managing ancillary works such as road construction and land clearing, and ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of scopes. A strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to QMAG's SHMS is essential, along with maintaining accurate records for end-of-month reporting, validating contractor claims, and providing regular updates to site leadership on performance, issues, and improvements.

The Requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Certificate IV or higher in Surface Extraction Operations, Civil Construction, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in mine operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and contractor management experience.
  • Sound knowledge of mine infrastructure, water management, and environmental compliance.
