The Opportunity

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Planning, Environment & Infrastructure (PEI) practice group.

Working Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-level administrative support to Partner and team of lawyers.

Your day will involve:

  • Managing billing processes for your direct team.
  • Managing Partners internal and external appointments.
  • Assisting with meeting preparation.
  • Managing the travel of Partner and team members.
  • Assisting with document creation, editing, formatting, and finalisation.
  • Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders by phone, email and in-person using a very professional and personable manner.
  • Coordinating and managing a broad variety of responsibilities and deliverables.

Skills & experience:

The successful candidate will be an experienced Legal Assistant (Legal Secretary) who is wanting to build a long-lasting legal support career and who is ready for that next challenge.

To be successful in this role, you will be well organised and have a proactive approach to delivering your work and strong attention to detail.

You will also have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' Legal Assistant (Secretary) experience.
  • Previous experience in diary management is essential.
  • Ability to anticipate Partner requirements to reduce administrative time.
  • Strong matter management and billing experience is essential (Aderant Expert is preferred though not essential).
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
