At Sulzer, we are seeking a skilled Turbine Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance on steam and gas turbines, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and disassembling, repairing, and balancing mechanical equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on steam and gas turbines, including complex tasks such as de-blading, re-blading, and rotor balancing, to maximize efficiency and operational longevity.
  • Ensure safety and quality compliance by following procedures, using protective gear, and adhering to company values.
  • Disassemble, repair, and balance mechanical equipment, including turbine shafts, journals, and housings, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct measurements and inspections using precision tools, filling out check sheets accurately.
  • Replace or repair mechanical components, including turbine gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearings, ensuring seamless operation and reduced downtime.
Requirements
  • Trade Certificate III in Fitting & Turning or similar.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting on turbines and/or rotating machinery.
  • Strong ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
