Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various heavy construction equipment to ensure peak performance and minimal downtime on job sites.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, skid steers, and cranes.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions both in the shop and on construction sites.
  • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and repair documentation.
  • Order and install replacement parts; manage inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Follow all safety policies and comply with OSHA regulations.
  • Work closely with equipment operators and site supervisors to prioritize repairs.
  • Operate equipment for testing and verification after repairs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Own toolbox with necessary mechanic tools.
  • 3–5 years of recent experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
