Senior Business Director Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished senior business leader to drive growth in a newly created division within our established Australian organization.

The successful candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on leadership experience scaling businesses at pace in the commercial buildings and products sectors.

  • Lead role in newly created Division with significant growth remit domestically & internationally
  • Broad role with entrepreneurial responsibilities, driving innovation and cutting-edge business strategies

Responsibilities include:

  • Building a high-performing team to support an automated manufacturing facility
  • Managing licensing opportunities locally and internationally
  • Defining, leading, and driving growth in the new division
  • Establishing the division from scratch, leveraging existing corporate services for support

The ideal candidate will have gained experience in fabrication and understand how to develop and implement strategic plans advancing the manufacturing capability from a position of almost zero production today to production at scale to meet demand.

Additional responsibilities include complete ownership over the go-to-market strategy for this division and developing a comprehensive commercialisation plan to foster opportunities initially in the Australian Building sector.

The Senior Business Director will be responsible for partnering closely with the CEO, Board, and wider Leadership Team to successfully commercialise the newly created division with a significant growth agenda.

Requirements include:

  • Proven end-to-end leadership of a whole business or a division of a more significant business
  • Full P&L responsibility at a senior leadership level and robust financial acumen to quantify the size of opportunities and strengthen negotiation position with potential partners or clients
  • Proven success in the Buildings market in Australia with a background in commercial buildings and/or precast/infrastructure/structural product fabrication/manufacturing sectors
  • Strong business development experience, particularly in the construction innovation and commercial buildings space

The ideal candidate will be a tenured manager with proven experience in a high-level leadership position (GM/MD/Director) in a standalone scaling business or a division of a large business. A technical understanding of engineering concepts would be highly advantageous.
