Livestock Business Resilience Officer

Position Overview: Achieve Group is seeking a dedicated Extension Officer P03 to contribute to the Grazing Futures Livestock Business Resilience project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with northern beef producers to enhance the resilience of livestock businesses through effective business planning and support in areas such as production, resource management, and relationship building.
- Support the northern GFLBR coordinator by participating in impact reporting and promotional activities to elevate the profile of the GFLBR program.
- Engage in industry forums and collaborate with industry partners by attending relevant events.
- Assist the DAF Beef Extension team in Mareeba with various extension initiatives across the northern region.
- Work alongside the North Queensland Pasture Resilience Project and Reef Extension team to deliver general extension services.
- Contribute to the FutureBeef website and other communication materials in collaboration with the Northern Beef and Feedbase team.
Essential Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree (AQF level 7 or equivalent) in Animal, Agricultural, or Environmental Science from a recognized institution is mandatory.
- A valid 'C' class driver's license is required.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the beef industry in Queensland and/or northern Australia.
- International qualifications must be assessed for comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
- The role involves travel across various regions of Queensland for extended periods.
- Evidence of prior immunity to Q-Fever or commitment to vaccination is necessary before starting the position.
Desirable Attributes:
- A post-graduate qualification in a relevant science or extension field is preferred.
- Experience in building successful relationships with land managers is advantageous.
Experience in agricultural extension or farm business management is essential. A current police check will be required for successful candidates.
This is a flexible position, operating Monday to Friday, totaling 72.5 hours per fortnight.
