Job Role

We are seeking an accomplished Procurement Specialist to elevate our business performance through strategic sourcing, contract management, and supply chain optimization. This role will be responsible for forging strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating optimal value, and driving improved outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive top-tier supplier performance against contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Source new partners and manage existing strategic supply partners to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Pursue supply chain synergies in areas of Food, Utilities, Uniforms, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and service overheads.
  • Implement internal audit programs to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies to capture them.
  • Develop business cases and sourcing strategies to identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Oversee end-to-end cost saving initiatives from procurement to payment.
  • Regularly review categories, identify opportunities through market insights, and leverage best practices in procurement.
  • Assist in maintaining supplier master contract files and negotiating optimal value.
  • Authorize invoice payments for non-standard product purchases.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new or improved products and services to designated categories.
  • Plan delivery timetables and liaise with suppliers to ensure orders and delivery times are met.
  • Solve supply chain issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role with a proven track record of achieving cost savings through strategic sourcing.
  • Experience in procurement management, managing purchasing spends of over $100M annually.
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end procurement process and commercial maturity to adapt to market conditions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS).
  • Proven experience in competitive tender processes.
  • Experience in SC relationship management, contracts, and supplier performance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of category management principles and cost factors.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Advanced Excel skills.
