Job Title: External Repair Supervisor

About the Role

Maintenance and repair of surface mining equipment is a critical task that requires meticulous coordination. As an External Repair Supervisor, you will oversee the maintenance of rotable components and equipment onsite, ensuring they are in top condition to meet the demands of the operation.

This role involves implementing cost-saving strategies while maintaining safety standards and quality assurance. You will be responsible for coordinating all external repairs to Asset Management Group rotable and supplier exchange components.

To achieve this, you will identify and implement process improvements for external repairs of Asset Management Group rotable components. Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders is also crucial in this role.

  • Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement process improvements for external repairs of Asset Management Group rotable components.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee and review planned offsite equipment rebuilds and repairs.
  • Provide internal technical support regarding Asset Management Group equipment and components.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with suppliers to ensure obligations are met, communicate progress, and identify improvements.
  • Ensure components are repaired to Mineral Resources Limited scope of work standards.
  • Inspect failed iron and critical component failure modes and, where practicable, advise the Asset Management Group Reliability team and relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Sourcing and purchasing resources required for external repair of components.
  • Developing, maintaining, and updating a component and equipment repair / rebuild register.
  • Communicate weekly status reports to stakeholders regarding the repair / rebuild status.

Requirements:

This role requires a combination of mechanical knowledge and leadership skills. A comprehensive understanding of maintenance of surface and ancillary mining equipment onsite, and coordination/management of repairs and rebuilds to rotable components and equipment, is essential. Additionally, a Mechanical Trade Qualification and experience and training in failure analysis (FA1 & FA2 preferable) are highly desirable.

A successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills will also be necessary to identify and implement process improvements.
