Critical Care Nurse

This is an opportunity to work as a critical care nurse at the Far West Local Health District. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide safe and compassionate patient-centered care to patients in need.
About the Role:You will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patients' conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Supervise and mentor less experienced nurses, as well as students on clinical placement.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient care and treatment options.

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in your application as thoroughly as possible:
- Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current postgraduate or minimum Graduate Certificate qualification in Intensive Care, Coronary Care, or Critical Care.
- Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries in delivering patient care within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualized person-centered care plans.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
