Role Summary: Located at Wacol, the Warehouse Operations Assistant will collaborate closely with the service team to manage the procurement, receipt, and storage of consumables. This role is essential in ensuring that parts and tools are accurately stored and dispatched, allowing our technical team and clients to receive their orders in excellent condition and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of the parts supply chain by:
  • Conducting thorough inspections of incoming goods to verify stock quantities and report any damages to the supervisor for resolution with the freight provider.
  • Maintaining compliance with tooling and asset standards.
  • Ensuring that maintenance and repairs of workshop tools and assets are upheld to high standards.
  • Facilitating the prompt and accurate dispatch and receipt of tools.
  • Managing the procurement of consumables and personal protective equipment (PPE) with a balanced focus on cost and quality.
  • Assisting the workshop team with audits and necessary corrective actions.
  • Providing local pick-up support as needed.
  • Offering technical assistance to trades as required.
  • Accurately receiving and organizing stock in designated locations.
  • Efficiently picking, packing, and dispatching shipments of parts and other goods to both customers and internal departments.
  • Ensuring secure packaging of parts and goods to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment in line with 5S and safety principles.
  • Assisting with regular stock takes.
  • Completing and filing all necessary paperwork for goods entering or leaving the warehouse in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating with transport companies to arrange cost-effective deliveries while ensuring accurate completion of consignment notes.
  • Verifying the condition of returned items and obtaining necessary authorizations before accepting returns and issuing credits.
  • Reporting any discrepancies regarding incorrectly identified goods, damaged parts, or required tooling to the supervisor.
  • Gaining proficiency in the computerized Inventory Control System and reporting any issues to supervisors while proposing solutions.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service by:
  • Processing customer parts orders promptly while adhering to Komatsu's Customer Support Charter.
  • Supporting colleagues, including Customer Support Representatives and Parts Interpreters, with technical and logistical inquiries.
  • Actively participating in team efforts to refine processes and enhance the efficiency of daily operations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in warehouse operations or a related field, preferably in the construction or mining equipment sector.
  • Understanding of inventory management systems and principles.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to business needs.
  • Valid car and forklift licenses.
  • Current dogger or crane licenses are advantageous.
  • Commitment to occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience with performance metrics and KPIs.
