Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Network Engineer (Network Automation) to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of our network automation platform. As a key member of our mid to large-scale network security operations team, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of our network systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling Level 3 escalations, organizing vulnerability assessments, and managing maintenance windows. To support our network automation platform, intermediate to professional knowledge in coding and scripting will be essential. Expertise in scripting for database queries, enhancing databases that store network telemetry and status information will also be valuable.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install, configure, and upgrade hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  2. Manage network and security performance through monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
  3. Identify, analyze, and manage risks at every stage of work.
  4. Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining access controls.
  5. Undertake project design and architecture tasks, including high-level and detailed design work.
  6. Provide technical consultation to business and technology stakeholders to support relevant infrastructure partners and other teams.
Requirements:
  • Coding Skills: Python scripting/coding (Intermediate level) — primary importance.
  • DevOps Tools Skills: BitBucket, Jenkins, JIRA, GitHub, Terraform, Vault.
  • Network Security: Operational expertise in networking, with experience handling complex network challenges. Familiarity with F5 load balancer, GTM/LTM, Firewalls (Juniper SRX, Fortinet FortiGate), VMware (Broadcom) NSX.
  • Data Management Skills: Data collection, schema binding, data manipulation, and analytical skills.
