As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade data centre and corporate networking environments. This role is critical to the success of our operations and requires a proactive, innovative, and solution-oriented professional with strong hands-on expertise in routing, switching, firewalling, and secure WAN solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset for network architecture and emerging technologies like SASE.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and support secure, resilient network infrastructure across data centres and remote sites.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks with deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and spanning tree protocols.
  • Administer and maintain Cisco routers and switches, Meraki, HPE/Aruba, and Dell Networking equipment.
  • Wireless Networking Experience with Design and Support across platforms such as Meraki, HPE/Aruba, and Fortinet.
  • Operate, configure, and maintain next-generation firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Design and support WAN services including MPLS, SD-WAN, and Internet failover architectures.
  • Assist in the evaluation, deployment, and operation of SASE solutions such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cato Networks, and Microsoft Network.
  • Network integration with Cloud Services such as Azure and AWS for example Express Route, VPN Gateway Services.
  • Support and manage Voice solutions (including SIP, VoIP, QoS); knowledge of 3CX would be beneficial.
  • Monitor network performance, proactively identify issues, and optimise network throughput and availability.
  • Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standards.
  • Provide escalation support and mentorship to junior engineers and operational teams.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver network components of projects.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, network segmentation strategies, and security controls within the network domain.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in enterprise networking roles.
  • Expert knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco and Dell switching and routing hardware.
  • Strong understanding of Layer 3 networking, firewall configuration, and VPN technologies.
  • Practical experience with Next-Generation Firewalls and SASE solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Voice networking, QoS, and WAN architectures.
  • Experience in large-scale data centre environments with high-availability requirements.
  • Understanding of ISO 27001, APRA CPS 234, or other information security frameworks desirable.
  • Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills to work with, and upskill, our growing Support Team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSA/PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE series highly regarded.
