About Us:
Monash Health's Emergency Psychiatric Service (EPS) offers a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team environment, providing acute psychiatric assessments across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments for consumers presenting to the emergency department, formulating treatment and referral plans as required.
- Demonstrate commitment to person-centred care, providing evidence-based interventions that adhere to best practice standards.
- Develop and maintain effective communication skills, interfacing with multiple stakeholders to achieve positive health outcomes for consumers.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in collaboration with consumers, their carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
About the Role:
The EPS Senior Mental Health Clinician will work within the newly developed Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Hub, located within the Emergency Department. This role requires a commitment to recovery-oriented interventions and working within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 to provide tailored support to consumers and carers.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in mental health first aid skills, including effective and safe communication techniques for interacting with consumers experiencing mental health challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrate an understanding of psychosocial supports and treatment options for consumers experiencing mental health challenges.
