Job Description

We are seeking a skilled tradesperson to undertake carpentry, fitting and minor maintenance works at a single Defence base. This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:

  • Undertaking carpentry, fitting and minor maintenance works ensuring buildings, structures, plant and equipment are maintained to required standards.
  • Performing carpentry, joinery and basic building works including repairs, installation and maintenance of structures and fixtures.
  • Delivering both preventative and responsive works in accordance with statutory, contractual and safety requirements, applying trade expertise across carpentry and general facility upkeep.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment for all stakeholders including colleagues, customers and the general public.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • A Certificate III in Carpentry.
  • Post-trade experience in carpentry and/or mechanical fitting within a facilities maintenance environment.
  • A Working at Heights qualification (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of building structures, fixtures and mechanical plant/equipment.
  • A Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent mechanical fitting qualification (desirable).
  • A Current Open Driver's Licence.
