Job Summary
Lexis English is seeking an Academic Manager to join its small academic team. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is ideal for a self-motivated ESL professional seeking a long-term position.

The Academic Manager will focus on providing high level academic support to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching staff
  • Interview and trial new teachers as required
  • Provide teaching schedules and timetables
  • Observe teachers and provide feedback
  • Liaise between teachers and administration
  • Provide professional support as needed to Senior Teacher and all teaching staff
  • Mentor young teachers as needed
  • Organise relief teachers
  • Test, interview and place new students
  • Counsel, support and give academic advice as necessary
  • Advise prospective students on study options and assist with enrolment processes
  • Attend weekly management meetings
Essential Criteria
  • Bachelor's Degree and CELTA (or equivalent)
  • Relevant ELICOS experience in a management or supervisory role in Australia
  • Exposure to, or direct experience in managing ELICOS programs
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken communication
