Customer Service Representative

Description:

V/Line is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide top-notch service to customers on our services and ensure safety on and around the rail.

The successful candidate will be responsible for selling tickets, making announcements, assisting passengers, and maintaining the cleanliness of the station and its facilities. They will also assist during planned and unplanned disruptions by coordinating bus replacements and supporting safe, on-time train departures.

This is an ongoing, part-time position with flexible working arrangements. Shifts can begin as early as 3:30 AM and may also end at 3:30 AM.

The Customer Service Representative will have the opportunity to gain a Certificate 3 in Rail Customer Operations and develop their skills in communication, time management, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell Myki and V/Net tickets to customers
  • Make platform announcements and provide information to passengers
  • Assist passengers with queries and concerns
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the station and its facilities
  • Coordinate bus replacements and support safe, on-time train departures during disruptions

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and proactively without supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Previous extensive experience in a customer service and operational environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong safety culture and willingness to adhere to company values
