Solution Architect Role

This is a highly technical role that involves designing and implementing architectures for enterprise ICT solutions.

  • Develop and maintain business, information, and technical architectures and designs for the enterprise ICT portfolio in accordance with best practice and standards.
  • Perform architectural reviews of business cases, implementation strategy, and solution architecture specifications for ICT projects to ensure consistency with Queensland Health ICT Strategy and architectural standards.
  • Translate business needs into coherent technical options to deliver detailed design specifications aligned with business requirements.
  • Contribute to and deliver ICT change management and Service Level Management artefacts to mitigate risks and ensure solutions are supportable.
  • Partner with stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors to develop strategic working relationships that align solutions with Queensland Health Enterprise Architecture and Information Management business requirements.
  • Develop cost estimates for solution architectures and designs to inform team quotes and project budgets.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic project plans and schedules, including identification of project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in technology design, integration of technologies, and specialist knowledge in multiple architecture domains. A pragmatic and analytical approach to tasks is essential for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis, and problem resolution.

You will also need to possess well-developed communication skills and a customer service mentality, with the ability to build relationships, consult, and negotiate to address client needs and translate them into comprehensive and efficient business solutions. Additionally, you will need to be adept at presenting technical ideas and concepts to a range of stakeholders.
