Native Title Anthropology Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Native Title Anthropology Project Manager to lead our Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering training and professional development to strengthen the skills of anthropologists in the native title system.

  • Main Responsibilities:
    • Deliver training and professional development programs to enhance the skills of anthropologists working in the native title system.
    • Support career progression by contributing to student events and facilitating placements within native title organisations.
    • Drive collaboration by managing and updating our website and email list to share resources and build a community of practice.
    • Contribute to sector-wide initiatives through active engagement with stakeholders across the native title sector.
    • Advance research and mentorship by supervising native title anthropologists and co-authoring academic publications.
    • Project management, evaluation, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in anthropology; experience in management or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the native title system.
  • Strong knowledge of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and its application in anthropological research relevant to native title.
  • Experience collaborating with legal professionals in the native title sector.
  • Familiarity with post-determination challenges faced by PBCs.
  • Proven ability to develop initiatives and work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
