Maternity and Gynaecology Nursing Role
Our Maternity and Gynaecology ward requires skilled nurses to provide high-quality patient care.
The ward comprises 21 beds across a mix of Maternity and Gynaecological cases, with approximately 500 births a year. We have three birth suites and a Special Care Nursery for premature and unwell infants up to 32 weeks gestation.
We are seeking nurses who can work across shifts, Monday to Sunday, with part-time options available.
Job Description:
- Provide necessary care to meet identified patient needs on the ante and post natal ward and general ward.
- Conduct interviews and examinations, documenting assessment findings.
- Promote an environment of confidence, confidentiality and respect, identifying through discussion with patients, family and relevant others, actual and potential problems.
- Assess and document anticipated patient needs during and following hospitalisation.
- Perform planned nursing care, setting priorities and re-establishing in changing circumstances.
- Routinely review diagnostic results and investigations.
- Systematically evaluate and document outcomes of nursing/medical interventions, reporting significant findings promptly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of acts and legislation impacting nursing practice.
- Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Maternity and/or NICU specialty.
