Principal Tailings Engineers are key players in ensuring the safety of facilities handling mine tailings and waste management operations. Geosyntec is expanding its presence in Australia, with offices across major cities, including Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

Job Description:

This role focuses on supporting our client's teams to ensure compliance with evolving standards for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities. As a Principal Engineer, you will contribute to designing innovative projects, including those where we serve as the designated Engineer of Record.

  • Design and development of civil, geotechnical, and tailings dam engineering solutions;
  • Geotechnical analyses using industry-standard software packages;
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modeling principles;
  • Site characterization and instrumentation monitoring system management;
  • Project management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of technical reports and design calculations;
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;

  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;
    (preferred)
  • Professional registration;
    (not essential but preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a consulting environment or equivalent combination of education and experience;
